Anniversary Ice Sculpture from the European Union

Confederation Park (Crystal Garden) closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 20.

February 3 to 20, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Location: Marion Dewar Plaza

The European Union Delegation to Canada is pleased to dedicate this ice cake sculpture to Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation and the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. On March 25, 1957, the foundation of an ever-closer union among the peoples of Europe was laid with the signature of the Treaty of Rome, which led to the creation of the European Economic Community and eventually to the European Union – one of the greatest political and economic achievements in history. This double celebration year comes at a pivotal time for Canada and the European Union thanks to the recent signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Agreement.

Presented by the European Union Delegation to Canada.
